Compassionate Pet Euthanasia

Home With You

Your fur baby is family. You love giving them the very best. But this is so hard when it comes to end-of-life choices. You naturally want to hold on, but often it becomes clear that the kinder choice is to end their suffering. So what is the best way to do that?

We believe the answer is in their favorite place, at home with you. This is where they are most comfortable and relaxed. And with something as emotional as saying goodbye, we know you will be too.

Dr. Manetta LaVergne understands how sacred this choice is, from personal experience, and from her many years as a practicing veterinarian. She considers it an honor to help families determine what is the right choice for their pet. And if it is euthanasia, she is committed to giving them the most loving and peaceful goodbye possible.

Testimonials

Oakley was with us for 13 amazing years, but it was time to let her go so she could be pain free . . .

I want to thank Manetta Lavergne, DVM with “Home With You” for coming to our home to make this experience for Oakley and our family as beautiful and peaceful as possible. Saying goodbye to our fur babies is never easy, but Manetta’s compassion and professinalism is above and beyond.

We had to make the difficult decision to have our sweet cat of 12 years, Gypsy, put to sleep. I contacted Dr. Manetta at Home With You, and she came to our home that evening. She was very gentle as she examined Gypsy and explained the procedure to us. My son was able to hold Gypsy in his lap while Dr. Manetta administered the medicine. It was hard to say goodbye to this little being that was part of our lives for so long, but it helped that Gypsy knew only love and comfort at home in her final moments.

Dr. Manetta also made my kids a paw print keepsake to remember her. We were blessed to have her come and make a terrible situation into a treasured moment of love, peace and comfort.

Our sweet old dog Dusty was beginning to struggle with walking, eating and even drinking, so I called “Home With You.” Dr. LaVergne came to our home that day and gently confirmed it was time. With her professional aid, we were able to put Dusty to sleep on his favorite cushion, surrounded by our family. We are so grateful for her kindness as we said our goodbyes and grieved. “Home With You” has our highest recommendations.

Dr. LaVergne come to our home during the pandemic. She sat down and talked with us and Theo until we were ready. The process was peaceful, calming and reassuring. We highly recommend her for in home euthanasia. This is so much less stressful for your beloved baby and you. No car ride, and now with COVID-19, not being with them. Dr. LaVergne is now part of our family.

About Me

Dr. Manetta LaVergne

I graduated from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1995, and worked in private veterinary practices for many years.

I then served in a primate research facility, which led to a position selling pharmaceuticals. Although this last position was lucrative, it wasn’t fulfilling. So, with two young children at home, I decided to slow down a bit and began working part time for a pet hospice and euthanasia company. It was there I discovered my passion to help pet owners give their beloved pets a “good ending” which is the literal meaning of euthanasia.

My mother was a hospice nurse, who felt it was an honor to serve those facing terminal illness, by caring for them and helping to ease their suffering. This is how I feel about HOME WITH YOU. I have the honor of helping you ease your fur baby’s suffering in the most gentle and caring way, in the privacy of your home.

I recently fulfilled all requirements for certification from the Companion Animal Euthanasia Training Academy in an effort to give you and your pet the most peaceful passing possible.

My Promise

As a practicing veterinarian, my primary job is to prevent illness and treat disease in animals. I will only perform euthanasia on pets who no longer enjoy quality of life or who are suffering from terminal illness.

This is not about convenience, but mercy.
